Prof. Dr. Kerstin Witte is a full professor at the Department of Sports Engineering and Movement Science, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. She holds a degree in Physics and Mathematics (TU Magdeburg, 1982), a PhD in Natural Sciences (1987), and a habilitation in Sports Science (2002). Her research focuses on biomechanics, motor control, performance analysis, gait and motion analysis, and the use of sensors and virtual reality in sports. She has applied her work across disciplines including combat sports, track and field, and dressage. Prof. Witte teaches in the Sports Engineering B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs and lectures in biomechanics, motor control, gait analysis, and sports technologies. She is on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, serves as deputy spokesperson of the German section for sport informatics and technology (dvs), and acts as a reviewer for leading journals in the field.
